Celebrating Dr. Matthew X. Joseph — 2025 LEAD Award Honoree

NYSCATE is proud to celebrate Dr. Matthew X. Joseph, Assistant Superintendent of Technology & Learning for New Bedford Public Schools (MA), as a recipient of the 2025 Leadership in Education and Digital Innovation (LEAD) Award, presented by the National School Boards Association (NSBA) in partnership with the Center for Digital Education (CDE).

The inaugural LEAD Award honors senior district leaders whose vision and leadership have driven scalable, sustainable innovation through technology, ensuring digital systems support learning, equity, and long-term impact. Dr. Joseph was recognized for advancing cohesive digital learning systems, meaningful professional learning, and instructional technology strategies that promote equity and consistency across K–12 environments.

Although based in Massachusetts, Dr. Joseph is a valued friend of NYSCATE and a strong advocate for our organization nationwide, frequently sharing NYSCATE’s work and mission with educators across the country. We are incredibly proud of his accomplishments and honored to celebrate this well-deserved national recognition.
